Went to check cam sensor for oil...
I popped my hood to see what it would entail to get at the cam sensors to inspect them for an oil leak. I got a message on my dash to add a quart of oil so I did a search here at the forum and found the cam sensor threads. I need to get some reverse torx tools, but in the meantime I peaked under the plastic a bit and found this...

Looks like the hose connector there in the middle is cracked at the top. And...

Clearly there is oil on the bolt there to the right and some oil around the area. Just wondering if you guys could shed any light on my current findings?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Yeah, I figured that wasn't oil related, but I would throw that concern in there while we were on the area.
Thanks for the reply. I don't see oil coming from the cam sensor area down to that bolt though, seems like its just coming from something near the bolt. I will take more pictures when I get the plastic off the top and check the cam sensors more thoroughly.

Maybe, clean up that bolt a little, check it to see if it's tight, and then keep an eye on it. Maybe a drop spilled when the oil got changed?
I get some leakage around the valve cover, torqued 'em down a bit, and it stopped, and at one point the nuts on the exhaust manifold kept coming loose, and spewing exhaust fumes into the cab when the ventilation was on. Just tightened them up, problem solved.
Hopefully it's just a loose bolt.
