Air Conditioning macking clicking noises...

this only happens when first starting the car and turning on the A/C. It basically comes on blows air then clicks and the air slows down, then it builds back up then clicks..then same thing maybe like 5 or 6 times..then all is fine and everything works well and blows cold. This only started to happen recently..so I'm curious if anyone else has ever had this problem? I did a search and came up dry...

Anyone? Bueller??

it's the flapper motor. there are many threads about this, including a diy fix (I heard it's a pretty tedious job)

clicking noise

It is a broken clip(s) on the vent linkage. I think it is about a $250.00 repair at the dealership. I just had mine fixed a couple of weeks ago but they repaired it under my MB extended warranty.

The more common name for that is the "stepper motor". The part is a $1 plastic connector. The labor is about $600 to remove the dash.

Yup, common problem. Had it fixed here. MB has supposedly changed suppliers, as the original part is a POS.
