KW coilovers
Hi folks.
Does anyone have any experience/info about the KW coilovers for the w203? There are two variants. One is height adjustable and the other is height and softness adjustable. They both suppose to lower the car front 30-65mm and back 30-50mm. That means the KW's will lower the front about 0.5" lower than the H&R coilovers. Does anyone know about the ride/handling characteristics of the KW's compared to the H&R's? Thanks.

kw suspension coilovers
they make 2 types of coil-overs...they call them variant 1 and variant 2. variant 1 is a fixed rate damper with threaded body twin tube shock. variant 2 adds rebound adjustable. they make alright coilovers. many volvo owners have used them (as they are one of few who actually make them for volvo). i would shop around and see for better prices...considering the shock is a twin tube design. the new w203 has macpherson struts front...so there should be quite a few places to look for one. and h&r coilovers are very reputable...if not a little expensive.

Thanks for the info Steve S.
KW shocks are made by Koni. I was told that the coilovers were going to be around $1200 and another $100 for the install. I will get the price confirmation tomorrow.
Who makes shocks for H&R? Is it Bilstein? If it is, how does Koni compare with Bilstein?

is that only for the front or the whole set? which variant? h&r's site is down for major overhaul...should be up soon. don't really remember but i seem to remember seeing bilstein labels on hr stuff (getting old
)... normal bilsteins hd/sport do not have rebound adjustability while the koni sport have rebound adjustability... but koni sport seems to have some inconsistencies from one to another... my friend noted that on one koni, it had 10 clicks, 14 on another (same type for same car). both koni and bilstein are good companies... koni's seem to be more expensive. also, certain koni sport require removal to adjust, while others can be adjusted while on the car. as a different note...u can send ur bilsteins to bilstein to be rebuilt and revalved to ur liking/tuning specs. each shock for 50 bucks.

kw has some interesting coilovers. the rear on a volvo 850 has separate shock and spring mounting points (not "coiled over")...and kw has a height adjustable rear threaded spring perch. i think the rear on the mb multi link is also separate...so kw has a threaded spring perch also...
something u should look into also
