AMG Emblem

I saw this for sale on eBay. It is the AMG emblem for the C-Class if anyone is interested in it.

I guess I asked a stupid question since no one replied lol
But what I mean is, when I take the emblem off will there be marks left? The car isn't mine and I want to return it the way it's supposed to be.

Who cares if I have it on my car or not. The average person, ready for this (gasp!), doesn't know the difference between a stock or AMG. Heck, most people don't even realize what AMG is they just think it's a SE Benz. Anyway, can someone answer my original question --- Will the emblem come off without leaving any traces/marks ?

LOL that's so true.

the badge should come off clean as long as you use the 3M adhesive. If there's adhesive left on the car just use something like simple green or some other detergine to clean the area. Make sure you wash and wax the area right after.

All the more reason NOT to slap it on - those who ARE aware of AMG would recognize a poseur.

Keep in mind however that the paint underneath the adhesive has not been exposed to the elements like the paint around it. If you try to remove the emblem too late in the vehicles life, you will see that the area underneath the badge is a different shade that the surround. However, it sounds like you have this in mind short term, so no problem.

Poseur is the correct term, but I'm not going to tell you what to do either way. Say, maybe I'll buy a brabus badge because it looks cool. I don't have any brabus equipment on my car though.

All joking aside, I'm still curious as to why someone would put a badge on their car (AMG, Brabus, Lorinser, etc) without any modifications from that tuner.

Because it makes you cool. Its cheap, you don't have to spend money on all the mods, just 20 bucks on emblem and then you can just go and show off.

but then don't you feel dumb when someone familiar with AMG, BRABUS, Lorinser, etc. asks you what mods you've done to your car? that to me is like putting the S600 and V12 badge of an S320 or something. or even worse - IMO - removing the badge entirely because you don't want people to know you got the smaller engine! the simple fact remains - you drive a Mercedes - be proud of it!

I quite agree, if it is not a true AMG etc why do that unless you are trying to impress others???
Trust me, the only one you need to impress is yourself.

reminds me of a friend of mine who drove a BMW E36 M3 (a real M3), he debadged it and put on 318i....then he went out and made some serious kills...:p

BTW I've got Brabus flat front enblem and rear on my car... am too embarrassed to put on the side emblems that I have... but hey, I've got the Brabus bodykit, Block V's, exhaust and tips... (but an ASP pulley... hey, where'd that come from???)

seriously, whack anything on that makes you happy... that's what your money is for

Anyone know where I can get a Ferrari prancing horse emblem for my C230K? I figure since "most people don't know the difference," I'll just tell them it's a joint project which came out of the days when both McLaren and Ferrari both used Bridgestone tires in F-1. . .

That's the perfect explanation.

Listen, I won't plead my case to those that are asking me "why do such a thing?". You guys just won't understand why anyone would do it because you're in a completely different mindset then me and others. You have to much pride or whatever the word is in the car you drive. It's all about what "YOU" think. That's why I am literally shocked & amazed when I see someone with an AMG kit on there Kompressors yet there car resembles my stock Komp. But hey, to each his own.

For me, I think slapping on an AMG badge is cool. I'll like it, it'll look cooler, those not in the know will be impressed and heck even those that'll realize I have no AMG mods, what can they do? So they'll ask me why I have it on, I'll simply tell them because I felt like it. Who cares.

The only people you'll impress are people like you.... and personally.... why would you wanna impress losers like that?

P.S. O2impressor... don't put it on.. you're going to make an *** outta yourself.. and all the other c230k owners....

Wow! A C230 /////AMG!

Seriously though, I don't care what you do to your car. I have a C32, and that makes me happy enough.

IMO unless you can back it up under the hood, there is no reason to put an AMG or Brabus or any other badge on the back. Now, maybe if my car had a pulley and intercooler then I'd think about putting an aftermarket badge on the back...

Of course this is just my personal opinion, so ignore it if you want.

02Impressor-

I am just curious since it sounds like you have all your badging on your car already....................and as we all know the C230 Kompressor comes with badging on the left and right sides of the car. Where are you planning on putting "your" AMG badge? Unless your planning on taking off something.

IMHO- DONT PUT THE AMG BADGE ON YOUR NON-AMG CAR!!! I personally would be embarrassed.:o

come on guys. give the guy a break here. it's his car, he can do whatever he wants. We can definitely laugh when we see someone badge their 230 to a AMG, but we can't tell people what to do.

it's like i always say "you can do whatever you want with the badge and so on. If i find it funny i'll laugh and point" (not in their face of course)

I just like to incite flame wars.

Anyway I haven't got the badge yet. Don't know if I will. But as always, before I consider doing anything with *MY* car, I ask for opinions here. I respect each and every opinion here because some of you are older & wiser and make valid points. While the jackasses who like to throw in there (waste of ) .2 cents just give me the more reason to do it (see altai1083) as well.

LOL go ahead and do it.. it's your car.... BTW... it's 2 cents... not 20 cents...and not .2 cents.... .02??? haha jackasss.....

Anyways... whenever i see some guy fronting... ie. putting an AMG badge on a non-amg or type r on a non-type r..... the word 'loser' comes to mind... i'm not calling you a loser even though you might be one... but it's still not 'COOL' to front about something you don't have..... especially putting an AMG emblem on a car that doesn't even carry the AMG model in the U.S.

Oh wait... maybe people will think you imported it...??... UNLIKELY!

Or do you have a ricer mentality?.... more stickers and emblems = more hp ???? I think that AMG emblem will give you 25 extra hp... haha

Well, at least he's putting a Mercedes-related emblem on his car, better than this Accord "GT-R" I saw lol, we actually couldn't help but laugh in the guy's face, and watched as he walked with any remaining dignity with his girlfriend to the elevator bahahah!
