I have searched forums for similar problem yet didn't find one..
After heavy acceleration there is a humming sound that sounds like its coming from the left rear of the car. From what i can tell it doesn't happen unless the car is put into high Rpm for short periods of time. After the humming starts it continues with no change in sound/pitch until the engine is shutoff completely. Upon restarting the car the noise is gone until heavy acceleration again. It sounds more like an electronic buzzing more than an exhaust leak or rattle.
No malfunctions are reported and i feel no difference in transmission/engine performence, its just embarassing.
Again i stress the fact that once the sound starts, there is NO change in pitch or tone regardless of speed/rpm or gear even in park, until the car is shutoff.
The engine ofcourse being M111 and the mileage is around 101,000
That is high yes but my job does require alot of travel.
Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated...
