It's like watching a mirror. I've been through all you described and I'm in the exact same position right now WITH the same shipping company. One of the guys here (Kira) offered to drive up there and actual try the car himself, which will be AWESOME, but other than that, it's been nerve wrecking, specially if your wife is German But yeah, let's hope everything works out.
