bought puddle lights...now what?

I bought from the dealer puddle lights that go under the door ($7 each) after reading the thread https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...=lights+puddle

Unfortunately after taking the door panel off and searching all over the door mine does not come pre-wired like the Australian cars.

Does anyone know where I would start a lead from, to power them up when I open the door? There has to be a module / controller somewhere that I can tap in that would control these little lights?

64 people and counting looked at my question and nobody could offer up a suggestion?

Thought that everyone was an expert on here

I'd say tap into the interior dome light on the headliner. it may be a bit difficult to run a wire down there though.

I had that as plan B, but it might be a challenge to snake the wires to both doors down from the headliner

i'm no expert but i would think that the switch on your door might have something to do with it... since its what tells the interiror lights to turn on. you might try that since its hell of alot closer than your headliner...

because the lights go off in a fade out, the switch on the door frame would have go to some sort of relay / controller that controls the light and hooking it up directly to that could cause problems
