Hey Titus, I'm not the smartest one on this site but thanks for flying for us.

I have a 2004 C Coupe that I love. Don't know much about the sedans.

Just do a lot of reading. For instance, did you know that the 2005 and the 2006/2007 have completely different drivetrains?

personally I think:

2005 C230 - heck lot of more fun to drive in the city because of the power in the low rpms

2006-2007 - nicer for highway

regardless of all the other differences like 5 vs 7 speed, better vs worse gas mileage etc, this would be the only criteria Id be looking for.

Good luck with your future purchase

Welcome to the boards!

The 2005 230k is very different from the 2006 and 2007 c230s. Personally w/ gas prices the way they are, Id stick w/ getting a manaul 2005 c230k.

Thanks for the responses. I've been looking at the 2005 Sedan, manual, Kompressor. I was also looking at maybe a C55 manual if I can find one. Are there any major issues that are common with these cars? And what kind of maintenance costs do these cars have?(i.e.-Brakes, oil changes, basic work)

When I got my coupe at a MB dealer, I had them put in MB leather seats at their cost... 500 bucks. Bargain for upgrades if you want them at the time of purchase if you get a 2005 manual.

Titus! thats a cool name, sounds like..

1. you're a gladiator
2. you're a transformer

like said above, C32 and C55 only come in Auto.

I'd try to find a C350 6 speed.

Welcome to the Forum, and thanks for your dedication in the USAF !!!

I say you can't beat the 2005 C230....newer styling, 4-cyl supercharged engine, which = great fuel economy. I've gotten 36.7 mpg with mine. Why buy a hybrid???

Nice to meet you. I have a 2005 240 4MATIC, and I love it. It's a little sluggish, but most of the time I have the power that I need when I'm not cruising and enjoying my drive.

Personally, I like the wheels on the 2007 C230 and the 2007 C280 the best. If you're going to get aftermarket, then that doesn't matter. I'm thinking about getting some refinished dual-spoke 2002 rims next year...
