New wheels installed
Thanks.
Who makes the shocks that are used in the Carlsson setup?
Too me it didn't really matter, I like the ride.

1. Awesome Ride, perfect setup for the W203
2. no guessing which shock will match the spring
3. height adjustable, no one height fits all
4. quality product from a reputable MB tuner
I really like the ride of the W203 with this kit. If you need a second opinion, ask CHATMANR, he has this kit installed.
Carlsson coilovers
Wait a minute now. I thought you had vogtlands on your car and had been recommending them. I'm confused now. Enlighten me please.

I do have the Vogtlands installed and for a lowering spring with stock shocks I think they do a nice job with a good drop. If you want to lower you car without replacing the shocks, the Vogtlands are a great choice.
I would like to see a lowering of about 3/4" - 1" all around. I'm also gonna make this hard on all of your recommendations with these conditions:
1) Usage of stock shocks.
2) Improvement in handling if possible.
3) Only slight decrease in ride comfort.
4) As cost effective as possible since I'll have to get it done.
5) Color the same as OEM to avoid warranty questions.
6) Etc, etc, etc. You all know what I mean.
P.S.
I'm in a completely different market (very small) and will have to consider resell down the road: i.e. what goes in CA will not go here.

Yes, you guys are right about the gap.
I would like to see a lowering of about 3/4" - 1" all around. I'm also gonna make this hard on all of your recommendations with these conditions:
1) Usage of stock shocks.
- To stick with stock shocks go with something like the Eibach or Vogtland. Stiffer choices like the H&R will make the car too bouncy and wear the shocks out faster.
2) Improvement in handling if possible.
- with just springs, depending on how you drive, you may not notice a difference. Keep in mind handling and comfort are at opposite ends of the scale, where you end up on the scale depends on your taste. I would guess Eibach or Vogtland will fit #2 & #3 best (I bet you would really like the Carlsson coilover, but they don't fit #4)
3) Only slight decrease in ride comfort.
- see #2
4) As cost effective as possible since I'll have to get it done.
- since you are not in SoCal, I think the Vogtlands ($190) are priced best right now.
5) Color the same as OEM to avoid warranty questions.
- I don't know of any black springs other than AMG, maybe Brabus but they don't fit #4. Where are you located? Are the dealers really that picky
6) Etc, etc, etc. You all know what I mean.
- Resale isn't an issue because you can always go back to stock before you sell.

Anyway, I thought Eibach are black. At least that is the color shown on tirerack.
Thanx for the education KWIK. You do your name proud.

, but I am a bit color blind
Maybe they just look black in the picture. It is winter, so no matter what color you get, they will be black in a few weeks.
as about the warrenty....as soon as you mod your suspension, no matter spring or shox...you lose your suspension warrenty for sure!

Eibachs are grey, H&R are blue and I forgot what color the Vogtland are. I think red or something. Regardless they get dirty fast.
Thanx you all.
I'm so glad that nobody has mentioned to take the paint of and let them "weather
" in order to approximate the OEM look.LOL
