Completely remove Airbox

**sorry guys, I'd this sorted out already, found pics and will send it to the composite company as I post

Car : M271 05+ C230 kompressor

Did anyone remove the entire air filter box ? Is the MAF attached to the bottom piece of the airbox ? Anyone have a detail pic of these parts?

I'm trying to talk to this composite company for a carbon fiber intake from the MAF piece.

I don't have the M271 engine, but you could find some snaps by searching M271 MAF clean or perhaps, removal. Look up posts by Mig88

But, have you thought clearly about this? I'm wondering if putting a intake at the MAF won't work. You are leaving out the S/C. Or am I missing something here. You need the cf intake to install prior to the actuator/SC plenum.

Again, I don't have the M271, so I'm not too familiar with the layout.

I know Mig has done a very nice ram intake.

On the M271, i believe that it's possible to have a special MAF housing (the pipe that holds the MAF) and extend it to the front to utilize the front scoop.
I'm checking on the complexity of the MAF pipe, and it seems do-able. But the cost is gonna be high. I don't want just the CF piece in front of the stock box.
Let's see how much the cost is for such a big piece.
