windshield replace in Houston area?

anyone knows a good MB shop ini houston area for windshield repair?
if i decide to go to the dealership to have this done, do they just call an independent contractor to do the work and charge you an arm and a leg for it? would anyone have an idea of how much this will cost? is there an MB windshield, or everything else is pretty much an aftermarket (brand)? any advise is appreciated. thank you.

I live by the galleria and I have replaced my windshield 3 times at:

http://www.atlasautoglass.com/

I've been to the 716 Farview location. Family owned, great service. The Pilkington distributor (OEM glass for MB) is really close by and they can pick one up the same day you call.

If you have the rain sensing option, you need Pilkington's part number 43R-001585.

Call them up, make an appointment, make sure you get the OEM glass (again, Pilkington brand) and it should be no more than $350 and 30 minutes.

Hope that helps.

You've obviously never driven in the 100 mile zone around the Galleria - it's basically the US's biggest road construction project. The unfortunate part is that when it's not doubling as the US's longest parking lot, it's the US's best place to pick up some bit of flying debris.

I seem to pick up at least one crack every time I get close to the I10/610 split - thank god it's in rentals!

110K highway miles in Concrete City. Trucks and pickups all over the place traveling thru construction zones. It's nearly impossible to avoid it.

Last time I replaced it was 3 months ago and I already have 2 small rock chips. There is simply nothing you can do about it here...
