Remember guys those big wheels look great, but they slow the car down. Rotational weight is an 8 times multiplier on weight gain.

If you want looks, sure get what you want. But I think one of the reasons my Coupe launches well is the 17" wheels I have.

they said you have to run staggered so they can make more money on you, other than that there's no need to. Having a staggered set is not needed, although it's desirable, mostly for looks. If 18x8.5 rocks your boat then go for it. Goodluck

I have 18x8.5" all the way around, works fine, no need to run staggered. You can find them in plenty of places.

Exclamation

I have always wondered if I could run a non-staggered setup on my car - never got a real for sure answer - I just ordered a 18x8 and 18x9 ASA ST4 set from tirerack - and I am waiting on the rear Pirelli tires to come in stock since they are on backorder - maybe I should just go 18x8 or 18x9 all around?? That way I can rotate my tires and get better use out of them... Will 18x8 look good all the way around?...and will 18x9 fit good on a stock 2005 C230 SS....?

What do you guys think??

Just ordered 18x8 all around(ASA ST4's) for my 2005 C230 SS....

I know I have 17x8.5 in the rear now and I like how wide they look...is there that much of a big difference between (8) and (8.5)?

I hope I made the right choice, they didn't have 18x8.5 so instead of 18x9 I went with 18x8.

So was this a good decision?

Opinions please....

Well considering you're going from a wiser sized tire in the rear to 20mm less in the rear, you'll lose some performance benefits. That's where the trade off is. Save money vs. gain performance.

Do you think the performance and tire width difference will be very noticeable?

Old tires:

Front - 225/45-17
Rear - 245/40-17

New tires:

All Around - 225/40-18

By the way thanks for the feedback...
