CLK Black Series Components on W203 ?
Just for fun, I was watching some Black Series video's on youtube.
There's a great Top Gear episode, and also a race with a Lambo on
Neurbering. The Lambo never gets close...
So, I got to thinkin', could any parts from the Black Series work on the W203?
Well I checked the price on the carbob rotors, only a grand a piece.
Not bad actually. But no prices on the calipers and the EPC shows pics of
a single piston caliper.
However the front sway bar is only 80 bucks. PN 2093200410
Not sure how thick that is.
The struts and springs don't come up with PN's either.
Damn.

I was gonna go amg all around but the rear 19mm sounds great. Still 26mm H&R front is too big you think?
That would be next on my list and since the black series won't fit LOL, I'll skip the headers for these bars(AMG only or combo with H&R).

I have stiffer springs well, so not sure what you've got, but the 22mm front, 19mm rear is what I'd been waiting for.
I was so frustrated with the handling, and that after spending
2 grand on suspension.
I did some reading and the solution was clearly a thicker rear bar.

IMHO 26mm front is WAY overkill. This is my daily driver, not a race car.
The Coupe is NOT a sedan, and Mercedes should set the suspension accordingly, but they don't. They just put the same components on as the sedan.
Wrong!
Our cars are heavy in the rear with a higher center of gravity. Thicker rear bar solves it.
Now the front end bites into the pavement on fast turns instead of ploughing straight ahead with the wheels turned.
Used to be I had to slow down before the corner, and have my foot on the gas to keep it turning.
Now it just...turns, when I turn! Like it should. With or without pushing the gas.

That's true when I turn, but since I got the H&R CO's, well I thought for a moment that the problem was solved. Once the springs setlled, the ride went like stocky again but not that bad actually.
Can't wait to try out that combo. Thx for all the info.

I drove a friend's M3 and it was so well balanced.
It was at that point I realized something wasn't right.
I live near some very awesome twisties.
So much better now with the thicker rear bar, and it doesn't
oversteer at all. Perfect.
Here it is... 160 bucks.

Don't worry that it says Sedan, they're all the same.
The AMG front bar is about 80 bucks at the dealer, or available online.
Ha, that MBfly dude didn't last long on the forums.

For daily driving, steel rotors are actually the best. Your better off just getting a bbk.
I would advise against trying to get strut and springs from a clk bs as well. Given the cars are completely different and weigh differently, the spring rates and damper settings that work best for a clk might be horrible on a w203.
Your better off just getting aftermarket suspension specically designed for the w203.

W203 slightly modified
Well the only things I can think of that would actually work are
- W209 front end upgrade (whole external appearance of the nose including bumper and grille ) (about $4,000).
- steering wheel
- engine swap with transmission (sunman did E55 engine)
- cluster (very tight fit)
- shifter (maybe)
- custom wood for shifter
- seats
- 360mm front brakes (in stock at MBENZNL) <<<< works nicely on 19".
Everything else is kind of not really for W203.

Sunman did an e55 engine?
I thought he added a Kleeman SC kit to the 3.2?
The 5.5 requires a longer front end from the CLK.
From a document entitled "07-203 facelift"
The whole pdf is too big to post here.
Used a nice utility to print to image called "SK Image printer".

C230 Coupe Silver
So in conclusion the clk sways don't fit? The w209 front end conversion would look so amazing I think because I love it. Don't know how well it would blend with the rest of the car though. And really interested in an engine swap for a 32 amg. Figured 55 would drive the car off the road in a second.
