Need Some Advice/Help

Hey Guys,

So the other day I was driving home from Malibu on Decker Canyon (if you know where that is) and a BMW Z4 understeered right into me. He hit me flush on my driver side impact strip. The guy driving the Z4 works for a BMW dealership and the car was also owned by the dealership so "Bob Smith BMW"'s insurance will pay for my damages.

It pretty much destroyed the impact strip and left a few gnarly scratches on my bumper.

My question is do you think that I can have a shop replace the impact strips with EURO impact strips?

I would just buy the Euro Strips but they cost like over $350 now painted and shipped

p.s. I got my 1st speeding ticket this morning.....60 in a 45 ugh

the shop can't just order EURO impact strips.
If you want insurance to pay for it, just ask for the $$$ and buy them yourself.

and why would you use a shop to replace the impact strips ?
it's a DIY. Just buy the EURO impact strips from MBenzNL and install them yourself.

well that actually depends on the insurance company policy, and if you have a cool adjustor that comes out and assesses the damage.
If you let him know that the parts to replace the bumper strip are European and can only be purchased via aftermarket, however, the value is the same as what is/was currently on the car, they might just cut you a check.

try it. It might work for you.

To the Court you owe about the same as the Euro impact strips. Where it goes horribly wrong is your insurance company will add 1,000 to 1,200 over the next three years.

You have options, attend traffic school, and you pay the Court and the school, but the insurance company never knows.

You can use trial by writen declaration, done right you win. If you don't do it right and lose, you can start over, no harm no foul. You can do traffic school, or ask for a trial and hope the cop is a no show in Court, then you win. If you lose again, you can still get traffic school IF the judge allows it. Most people don't know that, even the judges. You sometimes need to respectfully invite their attention to the law.

Another option is to hire an attorney that specializes in traffic tickets. They are over 90% sucessful in getting the ticket tossed.

Last, slow down please. If you want to test the car, we can go to Willow Springs or Fontucky (California Speedway) and see what it will do.

if your spelling comprises of "sumtin"

I would advise not to write a declaration.

check out some of the Legal tutorials online.
Do a Google search for traffic violation written declarations or something like that. Or PM the person who suggested it, and see if they have a sample or template you can use.
