Hi,

On a 2007 C230 W203, is there anyway to shut the seat belt alarm off?

Like in all my previous cars, i could do a sequence of tricks to shut it down.. The Mercedes manual doesn't give any instructions on how to do so.. IT's a little annoying, espeically as if i'm driving very slowly around my community, then i dont want to be forced to wear a seat belt by a constant pinging...

Check your State Laws...It might be illegal (beleive it or not)!

it can be done via STAR DIAG.
For those who have had Mercedes-Benz additions installed by Steve (MBenzNL), he can fiddle with your car's computer with his special edition of STAR DIAG and remove / add these kinds of settings.

That will be the day, when you get pulled over and a cop asks to hear your seat belt alarm !!

also known as DAS STAR (DAS = Diagnosis Assistance System).
It's basically a powerful computer used at dealerships to troubleshoot for problems, program codes, read error codes, etc... it plugs in to your car's onboard computer and it has a multitude of complex menu screens which can surf through the many obvious and sometimes hidden options your car is capable of.

It's used for Mercedes Benz cars manufactured after year 2000, it is the replacement of HHT. Star Diagnostic operate based on the WINDOWS NT system, it includes workshops information systems (WIS system), the movement management system (STARUTILITIES) and the automatically diagnose system(the DAS system). The system offers total diagnostic coverage of all engine, chassis and body systems.

• Reading and re-setting of diagnostic trouble codes (DTC)
• Real-time reading of dynamic data
• Full component activation clearing and re-setting of adaptation values
• Coding of all engine, chassis, body and instrumentation modules
• Key configuration
• Procedure for fitting Mercedes-Benz accessories through the D2B ring and MOST bus
• Total ASSYST/ASSYST+ control (Active Service System) to update on board service history

Some techs at dealerships are extremly savy with its use. Others are totally clueless, and unless you have a step-by-step screen-by-screen print out of what they need to do, they might still be afraid to use it.
Some dealerships charge $$ for simple code changes, others do it for FREE.

Then there are developmental and engineering versions of DAS STAR.
That is what Steve (MBenzNL) uses, and you won't find that anywhere else in the USA.

The same way you don't know what the DSA STAR system is, you don't see that I tried to give you some useful information... Your lack of seeing a big picture and being close minded just don't let you see it. Your bad! Keep it cool on this forum... the more friends you make, the more help you'll get!

Hi,

Does anyone know how to turn off the seatbelt alarm on a C230 Sport 2007 model?

Occasionally I like to drive without the seatbelt on and the constant beeping annoys the heck out of me..
