Styling Cues
One thing that struck me was that the new SL has a lot of the same styling cues as the C Coupe.
For example, the headlights are similar although the SL has HIDs, the wheels are similar to the C7 wheels, the instrument cluster has the same kind of pod design as the C Coupe although with more guages, even the taillights are more rounded like those of the C Coupe.
I think that the styling of the new SL 500 really legitimizes the styling of C Coupe especially the taillights which some have critiziaed. I can't wait for Jan 21 when my C Coupe is sheduled for deliverry!
see the above for the SL w/ the panoramic moonroof! it is NICE!

i don't know about legitimizing the design. it was designed by MB (not Ford or someone else) so its a mercedes. besides, if some do not like it, its their opinion (of course, they are wrong
)

e.g. the rear end of the c coupe looked odd to me at first but now i like it quite a bit!
I can't wait until Jan 21 when my black C230 is scheduled to be delivered!
