Just Rollnnn.... evolution of another W203..
BTW...Back in college, I used to roll in a GMC Jimmy with 1 JBL 18"...I used up the whole back...I "built" an enclosure from the inside with the sub firing down...

...What was I thinking? It goes to show you a little knowledge can be harmful and embarassing...
Jon (by way of Manila)

sorry for the blurry blackberry pic..
It took 2 chunks out of my front lip, the big one is about 3/4 of an inch wide and 1/4 inch deep.... I didnt really check it out too much, since i was already running late, so hopefully it didn't do any other damage....

ouch, that sucks roland.
if it makes you feel any better, I installed my cf front lip last night at a friends place, scratched it backing out of his driveway, and ended up curb rashing my 3 month old MRR wheels

. I remember when some idiot cut me off and I swerved and hit a curb.Hey can you please tell me step by step how you put the lip. I still haven't put mine because I'm a little paranoid. I don't want it to fly off when i'm on the freeway. I heard screws and bolts should do the trick. Is that enough?
Thanks

long story man...
First attempt: to save money, i had my friend do it with me. first, we put 2 jack stands under the front end of the car...drill holes first on the lip...James (JL MOTORING) gave me 10 bolts, so i put 4 in the middle, and 3 on each side. then have 1 person hold the left side, 1 person hold the right side...and have one more person drill 4 holes in the middle first...then align the left and rights...I tried that, and unfortunately, it was sooooooooooooooooooo off that it was flimsy as ****...it was shifted to the left too much...i was surprised with all the freeway driving i did after the install it didnt fall off...
Second attempt: i went to the shop i worked at during summer. we put the car on the bay, and lifted the car all the way up...then it was sooooo easy to install cuz we were able to work over our heads, and we were able to filll in gaps behind the lip and see clearly if its perfect or not.
So long story short, get it installed professionally...itll probably be like, what 20-50 bucks? its better to do it right the first time...why? cuz after my first attempt my friend curbed the rim and i rubbed so much that one of my rear tires was turning in air, meaning my other rear tire was rubbing like no other...FAWK
so yeah sorry for the rant Karo...did you get it from James (JL MOTORING) or did you pay triple the price for the euroteck lip?

I had mine professionally installed a loooong time ago and it's still intact and holding on strong. they told me that they didn't like the bolts that it came with, so they just use the same screws that come with the Hamann lips
(but, only four screws are holding it in place.)

Or like you said I might just pay the 50 bucks and have a body shop put it on. I have heard soo many people lose their front lip on the freeway that I am worried. With my luck it might fly off and hit a cop

Thanks for the info

I installed mine myself using 10 1/4" bolts from Home depot. Used self locking nuts and washers on BOTH sides. You could do jumping jacks off of my lip......
Unfortunately I ran over a seat cushion in the middle of the road. Cracked my lip but it stayed on there.
Really nice job on the car Rollnnn!

I'll give the screws and bolts combo and have my coworker (340 lbs) do jumping jacks on it. If it hold then we are golden

Thanks for the good info guys. I'm a little more confident now
Come to think of it....I was looking for an excuse to buy that Mars red C55 with Kleemann Supercharged for 28K
i think its sold too. whoever bought it, LUCKY GUY

I was driving on the 710 this morning going about 65 and again there was balled up tire tread in the middle of the lane. I broke pretty hard thinking i would just hit it at a slower speed, since i couldnt really move out of the way (too much traffic) I thought for sure it was gonna jack my lip... i guess im not as low as i thought.. good thing for once..
As for the screws, i have about 8 or 9 holding it, i did it myself which was pretty difficult lining it up, but its on there pretty solid..

Haha what a trip I was on the 405 and went over a piece of rubber and that thing shot up in the air loool
Thank god nothing happened to my tire.
I once ran over a tire and ruined my bumper. I was told it was due to hard braking. When you hard brake your car does a nose dive.

I once messed mine up bad. The car in front of me kicked up a 2x4 and smacked the lip and crack the resin. End up getting in refinshed and smoked.
