![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
i wanna take off my resonator on my car but on other forum it says the 05 kompressor only has a cat, secondary cat, then muffler... so if this is true what im asking is can i take my secondary cat off w/o problems with sensors (or anything else) and will the sound be similar to a resonator delete? or too loud?
thanks too all the info in this tread and every other tread i read in this forum![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)

Not sure if it's the same with deleting resonator tho.
Do 05 and 06 have the same system? If it is the same, then you should talk to Benz_Addict. He deleted something and his C sounded perfect for my taste

no all 06+ are v6 hence the 05 is the last kompressor for the c at least in Canada.... i was suppose to have it removed today but i'll wait until i get more info ..... i do want that "perfect" sound (deep) like a v6 but quiet on low rpms

I took out my resonator before on my 04 4 banger with supercharge.
It sounded real good but I lost back pressure which made the car slower.
So I ended up placing a glass pack resonator. It's back to norm and sounds better. Just my 2 cents![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I think if you STFF you should find an answer

I know what you mean with perfect sound. Maybe removing one of the cats might do it for you..

nibo,
i have been searching and from what i can come up with is my car system goes like this..
headers-cat--secondary cat-muffler...
now my question is if i remove my secondary cat are there going to be sensors that need to be moved/replaced? and will the sound be ok on an i4 or will it be too ricey...
peter,
i really dont care if i get hp increase but i know for sure dont want to be slower cuz i feel the car is slow enough....![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
sorry for this dumb question but what is a glass pack resonator??
and is it expensive, should i get the same?? sound clips?
thanks
bryan

im sitting on a stock 05 c230K, and i thought about doing something simple with the exhaust, then i found out that we dont have resonators, and instead a second cat. therefore, i think the best sound for our car is to get magnaflow exhaust system...rather than to remove the cat..cuz magnaflow produces a deep rumbling sound, and it wont sound rhaspy or ricey at all...check this clip out...its a guy here on this forum called Roland:

im actually going to get a custom dual exhaust system done to my car in the next couple weeks!!!

so are you getting a cat-back system or universal muffler??? because i dont want to spend that much on the exhaust system.... i do want a dual tip muffler similar to the clk500 and i want it to sound "nice"... if i can accomplish this w/ a universal muffler then i think i will do the same minus the dual setup

I actually had Magnaflow muffler on my car before. Loved the sound, but had to sold it because it was droning too much especially on the highway

What car did you have? I'm actually stuck between Magaflow and the shop's custom exhaust muffler called Elite. Elite would be a bit louder but essentially the same as Magaflow in terms of the deep rumbling sound. I have an 05 C230K, so do you think itll drone much in the cabin with Magaflow? And is there like a correlation between the loudness and the amount of drone in the cabin?

i'd say go with magnaflow just for the fact you dont know how the custom muffler was designed ... but thats just me playing it safe
and i really do like rolands sound but i bet it's a lot louder in real life

It was actually not that loud, It was OK, but the droning really was the problem. The sound was perfect, just a little loud for my taste...
I can't really say about your car, sorry. Ask Roland

Yeah I think ima meet up with Roland this coming week to hear it in person! So youre saying droning was a problem, but the exhaust wasn't too noticeably loud but still deep? I want a low deep rumble at low rpm's and loud sporty at higher rpms!

Where do you live? In LA? If so, I'm headin over to AAA performance Exhaust, and they had their Elite muffler recommended to me, again which was a little louder than the magnaflow. So magaflow is pretty loud on the I4's??? And it's louder in person than Roland's clip?

got any pics or clips bro? mind me askin how much the setup was?
the O2 sensor is on the first cat
No. The O2 sensors are pre and post of the first cat. You can delete the second if you wish. No error will occur.
no CEL for me haha
