Just got mine in the mail today and this thing is great. Fits perfectly to my windshield and is very reflective. Price is fairly good too compared to others I was looking at. Really cuts down on the light coming into the vehicle; for a black interior this is a must. I am debating now if i should just go ahead and tint my front two windows, but its still illegal where i live.

yeah, it does suck. i know many people with it done and they say they have never been pulled over strickly because of it. but if you do get pulled over for something else and they notice it you will get a fix it ticket. probably best to roll your windows down as you are getting pulled over, but if its cold or rainy you would look silly.

i didnt get the sunshade just to keep the car cooler, i got it to protect my dash and to keep it dark black. and yes, i am guessing the southern california sun is a little more potent than up in canada.
