yeah i ended up buying a frabus one a little while back. Not sure about anyone else that owns one, but frankly, they look like they need some really good prep work before being painted. I'm still debating whether or not I want to go through the hassles of prep, ing and painting it, only for it to take a beating (fiberglass).
So, mine is still shelved in the garage, for now. Oh also have the 'frentek' spoiler from formymercedes sitting on the same shelf...both untouched. Same issue - build quality is questionable.
You cant beat MB parts, for quality (and fittment).

For those who think you can pick up a replica and have a perfect lip with a little paint then you are very wrong. The quality of the replica doesn't even stand a chance against the real thing. For the money, time, and effort you put into the replica you may as well save yourself some trouble and buy the authentic lip from Brabus. When I had my replica I ended up paying about the same as the authentic lip because of bodywork. The Brabus lip should wrap around the bumper by bending and twisting it into place. The replica will crack on both ends as soon as you try to install it because it cannot flex. Even if you manage to get the lip to stay on the bumper it will look out of place because the ends will not be straight so it's almost as if the lip were a size too small. In the end I had to chop off both ends and extend it. The edge along the front of the lip is also very rough and wavy so you'll need to straighten everything out if you don't want any gaps.
Please keep in mind I am picky and I wanted the replica to fit exactly like the authentic lip. It is very possible to simply paint the replica and install it but don't have high expectations for anything "show" quality.
You can probably pull off the ghetto option if you have a black or dark car, but from my experience it didn't work out quite as well for me on my silver coupe.
Hope you guys get a better idea. Happy modding.

Geez, 3 grand? There a rear Brabus apron on german ebay for like 100 euro's but the guy won't ship to US. I'd prefer the rear one, as the rear sits up so high.
