is this true? or is it just BS?
so i emailed my rep a few days ago about the c230 sedan and about the c320 being phased out for the c350 and he replied with this..
is this true about the c320 not being phased into the c350? i know hes wrong about the c230 witht he any body moldings added to change the appearence. is he just trying to finalize the deal for the c320? help?
There have been rumors that the engine will be revamped, but these are only rumors!! We had a meeting with our Regional Rep. from MBUSA & he let us know that there are no current plans to change the C-class to the 350 & if it were to happen, it will be when the body changes in '06 as an '07 model. You can check out any spy website & no one is mentioning the upgrade, people are assuming because of the ML change, but this was because the RX300 is upgrading their engine for the '04 model. As for the C230 Sport Sedan, I'm not sure why you would want to down grade to the 4 cylinder engine with less horsepower. I have seen the C320 sport sedan & the only difference is the Burl Walnut wood trim is replaced with the Textured Aluminum & you get the 17" wheels from the C230 coupe wheel package. There is no modification to the suspension or any body moldings added to change the appearance

I posted that link to a german language MB chat group where they mentioned a C350, I got it from the edmunds.com C class discussion group. I don't know anything about whether it is true or not. I could see the C continuing with the 3.2, but I would be amazed if the E320 didn't switch to the E350.

Your dealer is a moron. The C230 Sport Sedan is the 1.8 Kompressor engine and has more power than the C240 V-6. Also it has been shipped and is in the new C-Class Brochure.
There also is a C320 Sport Coupe.

I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer's correct about the 350 not making it until the body change, and that the "sport" package is appearance, just like the C7 on the coupe.

He may be right about no suspension modifications, I'm not sure. But it does have sport bumpers and side skirts, so it is more than just the wheels. It's not a huge difference from stock, but it IS different. And the blue tinted glass slightly changes the appearance as well. I think he just wants to keep you on the C320.
