i took my car in to the dealer to get it checked they discovered a worn breather hose. i asked where is that located and how much would it cost to do. they said its under the throttle body and that they would have to take that out in order to get to it and replace it. they said it cost $500 to replace. 90% of that is labor i guess for a hose. they said warranty will not cover it cuz its wear and tear. does that sound right to anybody? well if it isnt covered is it something i could do mysef. they were telling me that the car would stall if broke. i'm not experiencing any problems yet. why wouldnt my warranty cover that hose if they covered several hoses already.?

 

You may want to check with someone else. The dealer replaced two breather hoses on a "recall" they had for my 2005 C230 a month ago. No charge, although it took them two hours to do the work.

ive'd gotten my pcv hose replaced already. i took it in again and they replaced a vent hose. then i took it in and they replaced a vacuum pump and a transconnector. when i picked up my car they told me that i have a worn breather hose that needs to be replaced. i told why they couldnt of had replaced that as well with the warranty. they tell me that the breather hose is a wear and tear. and not covered. they told me it would cost me $500 to replace.
