Transmission oil change and other maint. stuff?

Hey guys, when is it ideal for a C230Kompressor Sedan to change the tranny oil?

The motor oil? The fuel filter? Cabin filter? etc..

Anyone or any website have a list of stuff to do on the C230Kompressor Sedan for maint.?

Mines is a 2005 1.8L...

Thanks guys.

Oh and a write up for a tranny oil change? I found one in the DIY but it wasn't really clear with the .pdf files or list. I need a step by step write up from anyone here?

Appreciate the input time from you guys in advance!

Chris

Hmm. I seen the DIY like i stated in my first post but i need something more clear. I read through it and it looks way out of place for me to read. I need like step for step, kind of like that oil changing thread with pics and materials used and a description per step.

Plus if anyone has a website of maintenance intervals? What maint. needs to be done on a 1.8L M271 engine and etc... what mileage and what materials...

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
For information on maintenance please consult your manual. If you don't have your manual use MBUSA "owners Online" to get a .pdf copy for your specific vehicle.

If you are new to Mercedes vehicles, you will find the tools, techniques, fluids, and other consumables different from other makes. Since you mentioned the transmission first, it is sealed, has no dipstick, and the first service is at 140K. The friction materials in the transmission are engineered to work with a Mercedes specified fluid. You will not likely find it anywhere except dealers. You need a $100 dipstick to properly fill the transmission (over or under is very bad) and changing the fluid and filter as on other makes is counter productive. The entire fluid should be exchanged, not just what falls out if you remove the pan.

The engine oil is specified for your car as MB Sheet 229.5. It must have that number on the bottle of oil or you risk engine sludge. The only oil readily available is Mobil 1 0W-40. No other Mobil 1 is acceptable. Your car needs no oil additives, and you should avoid "boutique" oils like royal purple, lucas, redline, amsoil, and similar. These products are fine oils, and have application in racing and other makes of street cars, but they don't meet Sheet 229.5 spec's. The engine oil is changed by sucking it out of the dipstick tube. Resist the urge to remove the sump plug "to get it all out."

Good luck!
