sluggish to get up to speed.... C230K
I just purchased an '03 c230 kompressor with 65k. Once in a while, have noticed when getting up to speed, from a stop and especially when merging to the freewy, the car somehow has difficulty getting up to speed. It stutter/ hesitating when pressing hard on the gas pedal... just won't accelerate quickly. The car has been well maintained by previous owner at the MB dealership and has all the maintenance receipts. Ck engine light not on.Also having problem with the parking brake lamp does not go out when parking brake is released. Any similar issues with your C230K that you can share? thanks

The 2003 has some major issues that may affect this. For example, the heads are a poor design that builds up carbon and loses performance and misfires (check the service records to see if they replaced the head). Also check to see if they replaced the radiator. Many of these had the Valeo radiator which leaked into the transmission cooler section and trashed the tranny. Is the check engine light on?

Buellwinkle, thanks for your quick response... have ck the receipts and found a part # 203-270-00-89 valve was replaced at 58K miles, not sure if thats related to the heads that you are referring to, also the radiator was replaced at the same time part# 203-500-05-03, and control unit # 032-545-12-32-26.
Checking the receipt and found auto transmission and torque converter, flush, and performed fuel pump pressure test (3.8 bar ok) also replaced trani control mudule P2001 component N15/3 (etc-EGS). perform glycol test, replaced trani filter, flush trani fluid and replaced radiator.
I don't see ck engine light on at this point. It seems like the previous owner have experienced same problem at around 58K, the car just hesitate and won't accelerate quick enough when merging to the highway. thanks Paul
