Amdeutsch, Others with '03 sedans... Info on dipstick tube locations
A couple of you (Amdeutsch and others) with new '03 model sedans (V6) have posted that your engines do not have dipstick tubes, and you wonder where the tube is on previous models. Below is a pic of my engine bay ('01). View is from the right front corner of the car. The dipstick tube cap is indicated by the arrow. Hope this helps as you guys with new cars check to see if you have tubes or not. Let us know... I'm curious.

So it is at the left rear by the firewall when viewed from the front looking at the engine
or
at the right near the firewall when viewed from inside the car.
What is funny about this location is that when I asked my dealer at delivery if this was it he told me NO. He said that was to check the tranny and that the oil was supposed to be on the opposite side front. Guess we are going to have some more fun now. LOL
Lets see how much additional fun we can also have with getting the info regarding the new dyno mode for the 03 C-class.
Anybody want to help and ask their dealers. By the way, don't take their word for it but have them demonstrate it to you and then watch their faces. If it works...Great. Please post the instructions. As of now my dealer is still claiming that MB has not provided him with the new and revised handshake.
P.S.
I know that the oil level measurement is between 148mm and 168mm. What is the millimeter reading at the top of the tube when the factory tool is inserted?
