rev matching?

some were talking about using the manuals and rev matching? what is it? can it be done w/ a touchshift? what are the advantages?

It is when the throttle is blipped to match the engine revs to what is required in the next gear. It is used when downshifting to reduce stress on the drivetrain. Also, one can double clutch. Release the clutch, shift to neutral, let the cltch pedal up and blip the throttle, depress the clutch again and shift to the next gear. This can reduce wear on the synchronizer rings. It can't be done with touchshift. Sequentronic does the rev matching for you.
