04 with 05+ conversion

I was recently in a front end collision (hit and run) in my 04 C230 sedan. Being as that the entire bumper is going to be replaced, Im wanting to replace the front end (bumper, brackets, absorber, fender liner, fog lights, etc.) with that of an 05+. Has anyone done this conversion, or know if I will run into any unforscene issues?
If this is a repost I apologize. Im just running out of time because I need to order my parts, so the shop can complete the work.
Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

the only thing you'll have to worry about in this conversion is the front bumper. you'll have to either have the correct reinforcement bar, or if the body shop is skilled enough they could trim the foam, or maybe, just maybe, your car doesn't need the new reinforcement bar at all. mine didn't, and the bumper hooked right up. you should try to oder the bumper with it's matching reinforcement bar if you don't want ot take chances

you'll need all the mesh grilles and fog lights that come with the AMG appearance package, and all the other little tidbits like the rear towhook.

good luck!

Thanks to all who've taken the time to respond.

Mu9enx:
When I was involved in the accident, the entire front bumper was ripped from the front of the car. Nothing was salvagable, so the insurance company is paying to replace everything (fogs, reinforcement, moldings, etc), with OEm parts. The only parts that didnt need to be replaced are the grill, fenders and head lights.

Would you happen to know the part numbers for the bumper and components?

i honestly don't know, but it should be easy to do using a VIN number from a 05+ SS. you could then just buy everything you need. ebay a VIN number if you need to, haha.

Once again, thanks to all who took the time to answer my questions. And thanks to the moderators for not deleting a reposted thread.

Unfortunately, I’m not going to do the upgrade after all.
In order to do the job right, I would have had to shell out an extra 2,000, to replace the impact bar, which was not damaged in the accident. Even with my discounts I was looking at almost 4,000+ in parts alone.

Hopefully then next person, who decides to play bumper cars with me, will do a little more thorough of a job, so I can get the front end I desire.

Are you referring to the big metal bar behind the bumper? If so, that does not need to be replaced for the AMG bumper.
