2006 C-280 lease buyout discount?

My 2006 C-280's lease ends in mid Feb 09. I'm reading that MBUSA doesn't particularly want to be stuck with off lease cars on their lots because of the dismal economic conditions and are offering buyout discounts to sweeten the deal. Anyone recently purchased their car at lease end and if so, what kind of discount did MBUSA offer? Thanks, Larry

mercedes was down 38% last month in sales. There even leasing land at the long beach port to store all there lease cars. Maybe look up the trade in value of your car and ask for $2k off that number...see where it goes.

tried it but MBFS won't budge at all. my lease ends this month and talked to them about purchasing my car. they said the contract price ($24.5K) is the price. so, i'm returning the car to them in 2 weeks.

maybe you'll be in a better position. good luck!

i wanted to, especially since it only has 13K miles. but, for what they wanted, no way.

the car has been pampered and always garaged, except lately when it got replaced.

btw, i spoke with a supervisor at MBFS and he explained that they offer discounts based on market conditions. currently, discounts are only available to R & E classes (where residuals are much higher than market value).

lease buyout discounts?

I have a 48 month lease on a 2005 C230 that ends Feb 2009. Lease residual price is ~$17,450. That price matches KBB current retail price, but in this market I think I can buy lower than that. My car has 49,300 miles and my lease allows 60,000 miles. The initial turn in inspection found no problems. I have told the dealer I will only buy the car if they include at no additional charge an extended warranty. They are talking about making it a CPO purchase but say that only includes one year extended warranty. I am insisting on 3 years and 100,000 miles. I am meeting with them on Friday. I will let you know what I find out. It isn't really clear to me right now if the dealer or MBFS will drive the deal.

They offered my buddy $2K off on his '05 SLK350 because I originally wanted it but at $33k it's a bit high when there's plenty for sale for much less so i passed, they get the car back next month. Keep i mind you are talking to a customer service rep that usually does not drive an MB and just follows the rules passed down from corporate and they sometimes rather lose a little on your car than set a precedence.

Lease buyout

Update on my 2005 C230: They offered to make my car a CPO (1 year, 100,00 mile warranty) at no charge IF I pay them to do my brakes (including rotors). They are also doing (at no charge) prior to purchase the following: oil and filter change, dust filter replacement, wiper replacement, engine air filter replacement, brake flush, transmission flush, cleaning and lubrication of the sunroof, and replacement of missing rivets around the trunk.

I haven't made a final decision, but I am leaning towards taking the deal.

If you're happy with the price, I'd take the deal.

I would also recommend purchasing the extension of the CPO extended warranty. It's worth ever penny - practically everything is covered, and there is no deductible.

Lease buyout discount

fyi, they quoted me $1,925 to extend the CPO warranty to 3 years. $1,495 to extend to 2 years. Still 100,000 miles. As you said, no deductible and seems comprehensive. I will probaby do the 2 year extension to 3 years.

I dont know what you have done, but there are so many goods deals out there I would think it is best to look around. Check out this deal I found. Wish I was in need of a newer car.
