double din looks a lot better imo. single din doesnt cover the space well and the unit looks small on a big dash area. double din is a cleaner, bigger look.

but, that being said, it depends on where you park too. double din units i am sure would attract much more attention and probably would get broken into more than a non-conspicuous singe din unit.

the steering wheel function isnt a must for me as long as the screen is big enough (6.5, 7") and tactil...
ur saying that the 1din looks small, but when the 7" screen pops up, itll b even bigger than the 2din....
anyways looking for more input & thx btw...

not true. look at the screen size of a kenwood dnx 8120. that unit owns any single din unit on the market.

true but you had said earlier that the single din units had bigger screens than double dins, so i was just pointing out that was incorrect.

and if you compare features of the 8120 to whatever single din unit you are looking at i pretty sure its not much of competition. not only are the features better but overall looks, what looks better? a screen that that sits flush in the dash or something that pops out and is out in front of the dash? i guess its personal opinion but to me its not close.

I have a flip out as a temporary head unit but I am getting a double din installed when I get back to the states. I prefer double dins because it makes it look more clean and semi stock. Just my 2 cents.

i started with a 2 din eclipse but back to a single din kenwood. if you get a double din only get ones that are fitted the ones that flip out look wack... imo

Also if your buying the one with all the extras like you listed it should have an extra wire to buy so you can still have your controls. I know you said it wasnt that big of a deal but you should still look into it since it makes things easier. I would go for touch screen too and make sure the clarity of picture is good from all angles as you would see them in the car.

I would do single din. That space is just too damn tight for the wiring if you plan on doing a complete system. It's a feat getting the HU and DSP back in after I take them out each time. This is the only reason I haven't gotten the steering wheel adapter from Pioneer. I won't be able to fit it back there with all the existing wiring. Another factor is heat. The heat is such a massive issue for me........ I was thinking of relocating my DSP into the glove box to allow more room for better circulation for the HU. Just my .02 cents.
