speaker size and sound upgrade.
hi.
i've heard that orginal size of the speakers in my c200k 2002 mod is 6.5" component in the front with 1" tweeter, and 5.25" fullrange in the back.
how big is the subwoofer in the back? this is a sedan car.
and how deep is the speaker boxes in the doors? im trying to find some good rockford power series speakers, but these go over 2.5" in mounting deept. will these fit in the door without mods to the door/speaker boxes?
sorry for my bad english.

there isn't a lot of room between the door skin and the window when rolled down. however- the pocket of the door trim is pretty deep (the space from the grille to the metal mounting spot in the door). you can make mdf rings/spacers to bring the speaker out away from the door. if you want to go the extra mile- put some clay under/around the mdf mounting ring. more mass around the speaker provides slightly better bass/midbass.
not sure how big the sub is in the cars, since my car didn't have one from the factory. you are correct on the front and rear speaker sizes, however a 6.5 will pretty much drop into the rear doors w/o a problem.
