Assistance needed!!!
I finally got the money to order (to my liking) a new C230k. Only one problem, what color? I'm really digging the Orion blue,Black,Silver(which i've seen), and Obsidian Black(which I have not seen). Which brings me to my question, Does anyone have a picture of a C230k in Obsidian Black?

Obsidian Balck is one of those colors that you can't get the right perspective of unless you see it in person. Obsidian does not photograph much different than black and won't show the true replication. I'll dig around and see if I'm ableto find any Obsidian Black picture that is decent. If I find it, I will post it here as a reply to this thread.

Get the regular black
Get the free black and use the money for the Bose or C7 package. I like my black and it really looks sharp with the chrome wheels. I had metalic black on a car before and when I had body work done on it the paint didn't match when the light hit it a certain angle.

my dealership had a coupe in obsidian black. while a lovely color, i decieded it wasnt worth the special order price. Go with free black and add some more options

Well, since there is a general consensus about getting the regular black and increased options, it looks like that's better way to go. Will be ordering on thursday of this week wish me luck.

to me, obsidian black looks like a dark low gloss bluish sludge (this is a compliment!) its a very sophisticated color and i've seen it on CLKs and mostly MLs. i like it but i'd rather get a regular black and some other options.

don't be afraid of color! its nice to be elegant (black and silver) or to go for the heritage (british racing green) but, you know, once in a while, you need to go wild-er. otherwise, its too boring. i was really on a silver streak for a while. my last three cars (silver soobie forester, silver acura integra, and silver bmw 325xi which we still own). i plan to keep the car for maybe 4 years at the most so i don't mind about the color's longevity. heh, i sold my integra to buy this car. (and i miss it! but not the soobie... blah)

my first car, a chrysler le baron (hey i was 16) was black, the gsr, a brand spanking new MY 98 was cypress green (uh british racing to normal people i think)
wanted the benz to be timeless, and i wanted nothing to distract from the line of the car itself, so basic black it was.

heh, i think i've got you beat. my first car was a used red '78 pontiac firebird (but no graphic on the hood) of course, i was living in LA at the time. talk about V8 power/rear wheel drive goodness and it was a tank. it would fishtail just looking at a puddle of water and i did get several tickets...

after i got my acura, i just sorta let my le baron sit around (you know if hell froze over i would drive it). Figured its 2001, i would finally get rid of it. a nest of paper wasps are currently living in the doors, so i cant get near the car till they all die. hehe hows that for bad

the le baron is going away as soon as winter ends.... the gsr sucks royally in the snow, and i dont want to use the new car to treck back and forth to philly until the winter has subsided.
and i am sure with the c7 package, the coupe is gonna suck royally in the snow too
