do i need springs with R18/225/40

I'm thinking of getting 18" wheels with 225/40 tyres but dont know wheather 2 run the stock suspension setup with this or 2 get some lowering springs? would there be too big a gap in the arches without the springs? what springs are good?

anybody have pics of 17" /18" wheels with and without springs?

also what about if i got 17/225/45 ? would i need springs with those?

thanks

You are not required to get springs just because you put on 18" wheels.

There are some pics of the 18's I had on my car (C230K) here with stock suspension that should help. Click on any of the pictures for much larger versions.
