MB of Encino SUCKS, bigtime. They have downgraded their service department so much it's not even recognizable anymore - looks like a graveyard and to top it off I brought my car in for service this morning and they wouldn't give me a loaner car even after I requested it when I made the appointment.

I am really, really disappointed!!

Wendy, who was your service rep? I was in there in January and they gave me a BRAND NEW car with forty miles on it, total, for a rental. Very nice guy working the Enterprise booth inside MB. I had an excellent time and experience and they even gave me a discount.

I personally know Paul Tanner who is the main guy at the dealership.
If you have a problem i would talk to him, he is a great guy and will make sure you are happy.

My original service rep who I've had for years Sebastian left about a month ago and his partner Drew is now my rep. He was fine, just dissapointed that he wouldn't give me a loaner car. It was raining here yesterday, I was late for a meeting and I was crabby

i use the MB in calabasas - I know a bit further, but they have been great. would never buy a car there but service dept has been very good.

I was also Sebastian's customer and was very happy with his service. Now that he left I take my car in to Alon and he's equally as excellent. I also avoid Drew though

Paul Tanner, great guy??? That is why he is under FBI Investigation for Identity theft, burglaries and embezzlement and a lot more. He was arrested two weeks ago and fired from Encino MB. So do not be surprised if you have serviced or purchased your vehicle from Encino and you’ll be contacted by FBI for questioning. I would stay away from that dealership.

Call to Encino MBZ, they will confirm that he is "no longer with the company". Also you can check out California arrest records. You will be able to read it soon in LA Times as well. Guy was and is a big time con artist.

Yeah, this Paul Tanner guy is very shady. I feel bad for his wife. I think she still doesn't know about how he cheated with a 19 year old Russian girl for over a year.

I have not heard of his Love affairs, but he’s definitely cheated hundreds of clients and his own dealerships stuff. I have heard from the guys that used to work for Encino MBZ that he was cheating Mercedes Benz factory by doing artificial “Lemon Law” cases. Hundreds of them!
In fact his mechanics at Encino MBZ were tweaking cars, so client could proceed with the “Lemon Low” claim. And then Mr. wonderful, Paul Tanner, will sell them another car. Well I guess anything goes to make money…And go to jail.
Also he was involved in robberies of client’s houses and stealing identities of Encino MBZ clients and uses it to open fictitious credit card accounts for his personal use. This guy is full blown criminal and great guy, Paul Tanner!

I agree, I was not a fan of Drew. It is literally a hop, skip and jump away but I will not be going back. In my opinion, it definitely has gone down hill ever since ownership change.

I know some people are against independent shops (I was one of those people) but for the most part, now I take it to an independent shop in Winnekta - no frills, no bs, just straight shooters and great quality service- just how I like it.

Yes, I heard about all five charges. The most amazing is that he was in cahoots with people to rob their houses while he kept the victims busy at the dealership. The other charges are quite amazing as well...but home robberies? He came to Encino with a pack of creeps...but who knew how creepy!

I'm curious how the information on Paul Tanner's arrest was discovered. Is this info Public Records? Can't find any info on it. Also checked the LA Times but nothing found and checked the FBI files. Could probably find out more by paying for it on a criminal check site but would rather not. Can anybody give me more info? I definitely want to follow this case.

If you'll pay you'll be able to get more info. I have free access because I work for a large Los Angeles news paper. It looks though that this case is being kept hash hash. Paul Tanner has a relative that is a high ranking cop, I think in Beverly Hills division. So you can imagine why there is not much public information leaks... Good luck with your research.

I use to service my car at MB Encino as well. They were great about a year ago,but progressivly got worse, and now i'll never step foot in there!

I met Paul briefly a few times... Where does a dude like that meet a 19 year old girl?!
