Horrible Experience!
Yesterday I brought my car in to get new wipers and a new CD Changer. I told you that the technician scratched the sliding door on the changer so they had to replace that for me.
This morning, my CD changer didn't work and a "NO CD CHANGER" message popped up. So I brought the car in and the service advisor told me that the technician forgot to seal the fibre optics cable.
When I drove back, I noticed there was a deep scratch made by a sharp object on the vinyl padding near the glove compartment, and when I opened the compartment, one of the plastic clips for the pen holder was broken off!
I was so freaking pissed! My initial problem was only to have my wipers replaced and have my CD Changer fixed. My car ended up having more problems created by the freaking technician by the end of the day.
I immediately called up the service rep and told him how pissed I was and that if the technician didn't want to fix my car properly, he shouldn't go around ****ing it up.
The service advisor assured me that the technician's poor workmanship will be brought up in the next meeting. What should I do? Take his word for it, or file a complaint to the service manager?
To sum it up, here's what the technician screwed up on:
1. scratched up my sliding door on cd changer
2. forgot to seal the fibre optics cable
3. scratch up my vinyl upolstery
4. break the pen holder clip
I had to go back to the shop 3 times in 2 days. The #3, and #4 problems have not been fixed yet. They will need to order parts.

Sorry to hear about your experience.
Back in the summer I was dumb enough to transport a 21" IBM (trinitron) monitor on the front seat. It's a very heavy beast. One of the sharp plastic edges of the monitor left a deep cut in the glove-box door.
Nedless to say I was mad at myself and asked the dealer to order a new glove-box door for me. But he said that they can fix that and in fact they did. I can't even tell where the cut was.
The dealer used a local company specializing in glass, vynil and leather repair shop, excellent guys.
And the best part was that it costed just arounf $20.

I have had to have vinyl repair done on dashes that were damaged and when a qualified person has done the work you cannot see the problem.
