H&R cup kit + 19"

Hi,

I just installed the H&R cup kit + carlsson 2/5 about a week ago and the wheels are 19x8(front) 235/35/19 and 19x9(rear)265/30/19 and they look nice and perfect... but... when somebody sit on the back seat (2 people) I can hear the wheels rubbing my fender..... it sounds so scary though.... is this happen to any1 ?

p.s. actually when I the cupkit just got installed in the dealer, when I was in my way home I put my OEM tires in my back seat and track.. and at that time I did hear the rubbing sound (coz I thought the wheels are too heavy) but now.. when I got somebody sit in the back.. it rubbing the fender too... and I think it's stupid if I only can let 1 people sit in my car...

please let me know anybody's experiences...

There is only 1 solution: roll the fenders!

You have 235 tires and 19x8 on the rear and Elite has 265 tires and 19x9, its obvious that you dont have to roll the fenders.

maybe you can put a taller spring pad on the rear to raise it up a little. i think there are 4 oem sizes for the coupe.

rolling the fenders can be a pain.

it might not be the fenders, but it could be the wheel wells. Go jack up your car and take a look inside your wheel wells to see if you can see any burn marks. are the 265/30/19's tucked under your wheel well or are they too wide that they're beyond the fender?

if you were to change the spring pad, is it a simple job or do you need to remove the entire shock and spring and re-compress it?

That was the best response I have seen from a newbie in a long time! way to go.

I would also recommend looking at replacing the spring pads.

I recommend you going to a suspension shop if you want to modify your wheel wells. I don't recommend doing it yourself because your gas canister is there plus several important wires. I know that for the w202, in order to change a spring pad you have to remove the entire spring.

Pads from the dealer are like $7-12 USD each. They're pretty cheap because they're just a flimsy piece of plastic. The expensive part will be labor to install it.

Changing the spring pads may help by raising the ride height, but whenever the springs compress, you'll probably still still hear the sounds.
