Leather cleaning and Protection solution?
Just wandering if anyone has any advise on a leather cleaning agent that also offer protection. My company does not have cover parking. And I am so afraid for my leather interior. Please help!
I just wanted to say that I have finally know the joy all of you have experienced by owning a Mercedes. It is the best. I love my Coupe so much that I really wanted to live in it. I will bring it to my dealer to have my CD changer install

I assume dash and side panels are vinyl.
Reason for asking is I'm not sure the same protectant should be used on both leather & vinyl. A detailer once told me that each material has a different absorption factor and a different "need" for protection.
I use Lexol on the leather and Vinylex(Lexol product) on the vinyl in my 911. Vinylex can also be used on rubber components.

For the C5, it should be all leather, except I don't know about the backs of the seats.
BTW, tifosiv122, I asked some salesmen at my dealer and they all say that the coupe's leather is full leather, and I still have not seen anything that says differently. But didn't you say you had several dealers tell you that it was not. I don't know what to believe anymore. I guess I could compare it to a sedan without leather and try to feel the difference.
As for the C5, I was told by my dealer the part where you actually sit on is not leather, but everything else is. Hope that help.

There is not that many trees in my parking lot, so different parts of my car is expose to the sun for a long period throughout the day, so I wanted to use some protection.

!I think your dealer is full of BS. On the sedans, the standard interior is leather inserts where you sit, MB-Tex bolsters, headrests and door inserts. On the coupe, the only leather option is "premium leather" which is like the full leather option on the sedans. The whole front seat and bolsters are leather, and I think the map pockets on the seat backs. Also headrests and door trim. There is no combo where the insert is vinyl and the bolsters are leather.
BTW, I use MB Leather Care (for the leather!) and MB Interior Care for the MB-Tex. Works very well and doesn't add unwanted (at least for me) sheen!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
... but the lower part of the seat is probably MB-Tex.

I got mine at Costco for $50.
Yeh, you could spend 200 for the one from MBZ, but why?
I bought the extra large one so it would cover all the way to the bottom of the car. It doesn't fit perfect, but it covers the whole car.
Use the MBZ leather cleaner from the parts dept.
It's not anymore expensive (10 bucks) than any other product on the market, and if there's a problem, they can't blame the cleaner.
And it really works good.
I remember how Armorall used to make dashes crack....
BTW The MBZ plastic cleaner, conditioner....
Geez that **** smells like toxic waste!
Don't buy it. Damp cloth on the plastic maybe with some very mild soap. Avoid Armorall like the plague.
