Is that the all-black grill from ebay that you painted? Does it chip on the lower slats?

I painted my stock grill black. I scuffed the chrome, primed it properly and put multiple coats but it still chips everytime I close the hood. Its becoming a pain in the neck.

ebay?? Nah i got it off another member but then i took it to sonics to get it painted. Also it doesnt chipp or scuff. I just drove to San diego and back and nothing.

What im talking about is the chipping when you close the hood. I think the vibration or the impact of your grille hitting the bumper is pushing the lower slats forward hence the chipping.
IMO, that's the right way of doing the cl grille. painting it black made it subtle.

I dont have any scratches or chips on my grille. It doesnt rub either, but I do know it looks way better haha.
