Interesting tid-bit about secondary cats
Not sure if this is the case on other models, however what I (as well as my exhaust guy) thought were a set of secondary cats on my '06 C230- are actually a set of bullet mufflers/resonators. They aren't cats at all- the inside looks just the same as any resonator (just perforated stainless).
Although I loved the way my current exhaust setup sounded, I was curious what it would sound like if I ditched the "secondary cats". I figured if I didn't like it, I could have them put back on. I absolutely love the sound. It really didn't get any louder with the secondaries off, it just changed the pitch.
Just wanted to pass this along to anyone wanting to delete them, but was worried about emissions. Turns out, it has nothing to do with emissions.

i can check the part numbers that were etched in mine if you would like, that way you know. i would venture a guess that if there's no o2 sensor downstream of the secondary "cats", that they aren't actually "cats".
i had it out today for a little bit. still loving the sound.
