if peugeot does come..i would love to see a tune up version of the 206cc (for those who are not familiar with peugeot...the 206cc is like our SLK..with foldable hard top)...also..the 406 will provide some stiff compeition for the C, A4 and 3 series.

Their top of the line 7XX or 6XX (i forgot!) is pretty decent too..

The A4 vs. BMW ad is pretty funny too. I was watching it with a friend that has a BMW, and for some reason, he didn't find it funny?
I guess I won't find it funny when they make one with the other driver in a Benz.

When you say North America, do you think they will be in the US that soon? Or are they going to Canada? I would love to get a 206, but one more like the rally car. Can you get it in that body style? That one in the commercial was a 4 door.

I've never driven or seen one in person, but I would still love to have one. Did you notice if there are any street versions over there that look like the rally car, with the wing and everything?

Didn't see any junior Grunholms running around. I'm not to enamored of the two door hatch styling of the 206, but it is a great rally car, IIRC its the dominant car at the moment. There's plenty of duded up Ford Foci(is that plural for Focus ) running around.

A car that I'd really like to see around here is the Citroen coupe.

So many good questions...

1) The evidence (which seems to be substantial) say that they'll come to the USA. I've been assuming that means Canada too (it had bloody well better!). There are a few independent sources pointing to a far earlier re-entry than any Peugeot observer thought probable. Namely the fall of 2003, or certainly by 2004.

2) Unfortunately, Peugeot does not make its own street version of the 206 WRC. They should, and are missing an opportunity by not doing it. They'd lose money on each one (like they did with the 200 mid-engined Group B 4WD 205 Turbo 16 road cars a generation ago) but the publicity would be priceless.

3) Yes, a 3 door is available, upon which the WRC is based.

4) There is an official Peugeot Sport body kit for the 206 that looks nearly identical to the 206 WRC.

5) The closest thing to the 206 WRC would be the new 206 RC (note the lack of the W), which will be called GTI 180 in English speaking countries for obvious reasons. It has 180 HP DIN (say 177 SAE net), naturally aspirated, which should make this 1000 kg car go like hell. The power/weight ratio of 5.6 kg/HP would make the 7.4 kg/HP of the C 230 K seem a little mild One of these with the WRC kit would be OK. Apparently this is one of the finest FWD chassis around. The old FWD 405 I drive regularly is quite fantastic for hard driving too.

6) The 206 is an older model (1998) and it's not certain that they'll bring it over here. There may be some Citroëns too.

The Reincarnation ad is kind of sentimental though; maybe it seems better if you're in the mood to be melancholy.

But I like the deep humour in the 206 ad way more ... and the music's better . It just works on so many levels
