Brighter Reverse Lights?
Just wondering if anyone knows of any good brighter alternatives for the stock P21W reverse lights. I can't see jack when it's dark and raining outside. Brightness is key, not looks. Also don't want any computer warnings, so no LEDs please.
Doing a google search, there's mention of size 796 bulbs. Has anyone had any experience with these?
There is also mention of 50W halogen reverse lights. A google search shows that many people melted their housings trying these, so these won't work.

^ You are right. Lower wattages trigger the "bulb out". Higher wattage is okay but then one needs to worry about excess heat or burned housing.
The reviews for 3497 and 796 say they draw "marginally" more power, but give off much more light, ie improved lighting per watt. However they also take less than 40W each so the current draw isn't too crazy.
