Anyone scotchguard their cloth seats?
Hi. Has anyone scotchguarded their cloth seats yet?

I'm getting the oyster cloth and I will be eating in the car at some point.

Yes, Bought a can and did the Seats, Carpet, and Mats. No ill effects. I assume it will offer some protection. Have yet to really test that theory though.

Does the stuff take a long time to dry? Does it smell like dry cleaning in your car for months afterward? Does it come off the seats and onto your clothes?

Dried in about 2 hours. No smell. Can not tell it is on. Says it needes reaplied every year based on normal wear. I found it at Wal-Mart.

i recommend using it on a small portion first. i found it to make the seats a little slippery.

scotchguard is of limited stain retarding use. it works well on water based stains, but has never performed well with oily substances.

then again i used it on a couch, much more wear and tear.
