I have this problem and it's really bad. Got it replaced twice, most recent one last week. Now the problem is coming back. Any one know any permanent fix?

Exclamation

2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan

My car has been to dealers for service more than I ever thought a Mercedes would have to.

Just recently, my car has been squealing loud from cold start. As soon as I start up my engine, it sound aloud like ALWAYS lol, but that was normal for it from the first day that it started up

Now, it makes this squealing noise as soon as you put it in reverse. Sometimes its louder, sometimes it doesn't make the noise.

Sometimes I tried to not reverse, and go forward and see what happens, and then when I got to the end of the parking lot, I stopped and it started squealing...

UGHHHH
Is their a recall on this too? Because I need to bring mine in for the Camshaft solenoid one, and I'd rather get everything fixed at once.

mine is c200 kompressor, I had send it in the dealer in SG and had the pulley replaced. But the problem is not solved. Then they told me it is the compressor that is the issue, which will cost SGD4500 to replace the whole compressor... still thinking about it...

Thanks.

My Mechanic tapped my new Idler Pulley on my 2006 C230 Sport….

I haven't heard of other members with problems with their pulleys either.

good luck with everything.
I just had to replace my Idler pulley and belt at 130k. My issue is the first mechanic didn’t tap the new idler pulley, he said only the crank is tapped for timing. Well I had another mechanic do my water pump and I radiator and all new hoses and thermostat, but he tapped my idler pulley…… is that bad????

C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
Most recently it turned out it was the belt that was squeaking, not the
pullies. New belt, no more squealing.

It is a squeaking noise when your car is in idle but disappears after the engine warms up.
Is this common for the m271 engine or is it just my car?
im at 146k miles and never had a problem, my engine is the M111 but thats my experience for what its worth.

My M111 with 120k still on the first belt (the longer one) and no issues with the idler bearings. The bearings and the rubber had way better quality in this years before the outsourcing begun.
The bearings are INA Made in Germany (INA Germany is China) and the failing Ford bearings were F.A.G. Canada.

On my lot younger Ford I had to replace all idler bearings already. But I change only the bearings.
