Bringing this up again, as I couldn't get confirmation last time. I'd like to try to swap around coil packs to diagnose a misfire, but I'd rather not do it blind.
So if I get a P0304 (misfire, cylinder 4), that would indicate, by the picture above, that the third cylinder from the firewall (or the second cylinder from the radiator) is at fault, yes? This is somewhat confusing to me, because I have other, related evidence that cylinder 4 is actually the first cylinder from the firewall.
A confirmation would be very much appreciated.

I'm getting something similar to this and haven't been able to find another thread that mentions it in detail. On my gfs 2004 c230k I changed the plugs the other day and there was oil covering the front spark plug. Not from the top, it was inside and dirty so I know it wasn't a spill from an oil change. The car sitters and stalls sometimes. I've done the basic stuff, I'm new to MB, air filter, oil change, spark plugs, fuel filter. I don't know where else to turn. You guys give such good info. Any leads would help, even just search ideas. I have no idea what it could be so I don't know what to search..... Thanks in advance!!!
