W203 AMG Style Front Bumper

W203 AMG Style Front Bumper:

I have a 2004 sedan sport sedan and looking to install the 05-06" AMG style front bumper with new fog lights.......They have some on ebay rangeing from $300 to $500.00.

I am wondering if they will fit nice and not have huge gaps between the bumper and panels etc......also how the general quality is?

Has anybody installed a AMG bumper on a non-amg W203 sedan???any issues??? any suggestions???

In addition I live in Toronto, Canada if anybody knows any location locially that has a suppy of these please tell.....

FWIW I went from an AMG to a Rieger front bumper and at first, it has a nasty gap in the headlights, hood and the grille is hitting the bumper. But, if your body shop guy is really good, he will be able to make the gap look smaller.
Im not sure about the quality of ebay AMG bumpers but make sure you get OEM or ABS plastic, fitment is everything when it comes to replacement body panels. My body shop guy told me fiberglass bumpers tend to lose their shape because the mold/cast has been re-used lots of times that's why the fitment looks weird sometimes.

*you also need the 3 pc mesh grille. Double check the bumper reinforcements if they will need to be replaced too.

+1,000,000 fiberglass is no good when used as bumpers. very flexible and paint is not flexible at all..

fiberglass...non-fiberglass...all depends on who makes it. Carlsson and Lorinser kit for the W203 has been fiberglass for ages and those are Authentic.

fitment issue with replica bodykits is not because of the what type of material. It's because of the ****ty mold these replica kit makers use.

authentic AMG kits are dime a dozen. They are easy to find and not that expensive compare to Brabus, Carlsson, and Lorinser if you find them used. Front and rear bumper I would never use replicas unless they're a simple add-on. sideskirt don't matter as much.

I wouldn't recommend buying any 'AMG Style' or replica items, I would stick to genuine AMG or alternatively look at Reiger, they make some nice looking bumpers.

Yes, I've fitted the whole AMG kit (front & rear bumpers, side skirts and AMG exhaust / muffler) to my W203 C320. We had a but of trouble with the bumper re-inforcement and the mesh (there are basically two types of AMG bumper pre 2004 & post 2004 (as on the Sport Pack models). The cross-compatability of these bumpers and parts is non-existent. What year is your car?

Sorry, can't help there I'm in the UK. As for parts, as sugegsted check the classifieds or try ebay. Although as I recommend, try to buy genuine parts, it will make your life a lot easier.

thanks

Thanks for all the replys....I have a 2004 230 Kompressor Sport model...it is a 6 speed...but unlike the 05' plus models there is no sport badge on the side fenders....and it does not have the original amg kit.....

So its a four door 230.....i Will keep looking in classifinds but i also heard that the plastic replica bumpers can fit more easily...because the fiberglass ones do keep their shape more and can not be easliy fitted.....but ill put a front end picture up....soon.

thanks guys

I thought I would try again with this forum.....

I am looking for a W203 OEM AMG sport bumper for my 2004 C230 Sport Sedan and replace and paint my front end.

I have been looking online and would or course prefer to purchase on bumper local rather than away; so I know there are a lot of GTA people on this website so I though I would give it a shot.

Of course I would prefer an OEM one, but I am not okay with spending over $3000 and wondering if somebody has ever used an aftermarket front AMG bumper and how did it fit? Any big gaps? Did it come with easy OEM stock clicks and connections?? Any advice or info would help me out a ton.

If anybody has a 2005+ AMG OEM front bumper they are selling I would be very interested to buy it. I am looking for stock black MB paint of course, (I think number 004 or something close) but really does not matter because I want to repaint it anyways.

I will continue to look on craigslist, eBay, other forums etc

If anybody knows, has or knows where I can purchase one please email me at ryan_benzo69@hotmail.com. Or PM me but would prefer to communicate via email (look at it more daily)

Thanks,

Have you used eBay? That's what I did. It will most likely be a little damage, but it's better to get the bumpers repainted anyways so they can blend it to match your car's paint.

You mean the impact strips? The plastic/chome piece w/ the light (or without the light for EU models). These are usually a 20$ item before paint prices. Some members have purchased them for $50 painted while i see others going upwards to $200
