Will a factory stereo from 05 work on my 03?
Looking at going back to factory for my stereo. I have a DVD/Sat. Radio, etc... now. I am wondering if the stereo from the 05 will work on my car without much modification? Is the space in the dash a perfect fit for the larger stereo from the 05?
If anyone has (for sale) a fact. stereo from any year W203, please let me know.

Media Oriented System Transport.
It is a fiber optic format and specification to carry audio and digital data between interconnected devices without wires. A series of emitters and detectors on each device has all components standing in a circle, raising their hands in unison, and singing Kumbyya.

Yes it will work, Sunman did it, but be prepared to spend some serious coing to make work. First, you can't use the old console panels, so you have to get all that. MOST is not a big deal, only if you have other MOST appliances to connect to, like a CD changer or HK Amp, without those, then I don't think you need MOST. What do you like about the 2005 radio, is it just pretty or do you have a reason you need it? Maybe cheaper to sell your car and get a 2005, they are going for real cheap now.

Hopefully this will add to CMFIC's thread...
I have an '03 w/the cassette & cd changer in the glovebox. I'd really like to upgrade to something nicer, with a CD player in the dash (& possibly keep the changer, or even better would be to trade the changer for an aux input if possible).
I've read thru a bunch of the stereo threads and was just left with confusion on what to do. I've cruised ebay loking at audio 10 units (mentioned in some threads), but they are all LCD screen and I'd like to match the orange led (probably limiting my choices here). So here goes: what would be our options for factory upgrade to the cassette head unit? Either single or dual DIN would be acceptable ...

MtnMan and anyone else with a W203 earlier than 2005:
I also have the casette player and CD changer. It is nothing special on its own. But if you do not wish to spend big bucks for an upgrade, please try this out. I have a casette adapter with a male mini jack, which can be connected to a satellite radio or an Ipod. If you hide the wires properly, it looks decent (there are plenty of threads that show you how to take the dash apart thanks to the great participants here).
I can now listen to either the radio, the cd changer, the satellite radio or the Ipod. More importantly, I spent less than $20 on the set up to enjoy these options. I know that some of you will scoff at this, but it is an effective way to get the most out of what you already own.
If someone has a better suggestion that is reasonably priced, let me know!
Regards,
Al

You may want to consider an MB Audio 10 CD from abroad. These are relatively cheap, plug and play, compatible with your current db2 fiber including your cd changer, has a built in CD player and sounds way better than cassette radio. Just make sure you get the one for the C/CLK class.
