Homelink is pretty popular in the US. It's a programmable unit that, in the W203's is inside the casing of the rear-view mirror. The homelink unit has 3 buttons which you can code your garage door opener, gate, or any other electronic home entry device. For me, I programmed my garage door opener to it, so now, I don't have to have the remote control for my garage door in my car. I simply press the button I coded and voila, my garage opens up.

. The home link working perfect. The singnal is way stronger the my garage door remote.I can open my garage from far away.
But when program the home link to the rolling code garage door opener is a little tricky. It is like two step programing. 1. you need let one of home link button to set the same frequency as you remote. 2. use the program button on garage door opener to sync the home link. After that you can just leave your remote at home.

No its just wrapped. Ok so I'm back onto this idea and was gonna start until i saw a auto dimming mirror so was gonna do it to this. But can anyone tell me since my car hasn't got auto dimming is my car pre wired for it

If you notice your rear view mirror has an infrared emitter/detector on the front of the housing. Front, meaning the plastic housing of the mirror closest to the windshield. The emitter is recessed a bit. Once you find it, here's what you do:
Press and HOLD the button you wish to program. When light starts to blink, press and HOLD the button on your garage opener and aim towards the homelink emitter/detector. IF the homelink picks up your garage opener, it will flash quickly...then release all buttons. It should be progammed now.

I had to call Homelink's 800 telephone number (toll free number here in the USA). Apparantly, I wasn't pointing my garage remote to the correct spot, which was why it wasn't picking up the signal. After being told this, I was able to get it programmed with no issues.

ambient light dims?
Hello guys, I am trying to revive this topic after years with a question:
Can anyone who has the ambient light installed by factory tell me if the ambient light dims together with the rest of the lights (cluster and buttons) if you try to adjust the brightness from the dash?
I am popping this question because it might be the case that a dedicated line / wire from the OCP controls the ambient light bulb.
Simply connecting a small bulb or a LED plus resistor directly to 12v seems too easy
