Congrats for JoReL!!!
Anyway, JoReL, congrats on your victory with the IS300. I would have expected a close contest, since both cars have 215 hp, and the MB has only 3 lb ft more torque (221 v 218). I assume your friend had a 2001 automatic in his IS300.
According to MotorWeek, the stick shift 2002 is .4 sec quicker to 60, so better check this out before your next encounter.

BTW do you have the sunroof? Sport package? Just living vicariously, here, as my C320 has the weight of the sunroof but no Sport package.
MB-BOB, i need a little more power because i heard the beemers are slightly quicker, Do you know any other mods that will help other than the chiptuning. Some say AIRFILTER, but will the change of an airfilter alone really help with the performance, even slightly?? (hahhaa even if its only 2 hp. ill consider it)
BTW...are you gonna set a date for the meet.
I was thinking K&N air filter, too, but there are as many folks that think the concept is bogus as think it works. There's no hurry to buy one (two, actually) until K&N produces them for a decent price. Prices range from $40-$150, depending on tuners you ask, and the model numbers of the product vary, making me feel that some places are making filters for other cars (probably MBs) fit the bill, because there isn't a real K&N for the sedan yet. So, I'll wait til things settle down.
Yea, I hear the only BMW 3-series that are faster (slightly) is the 330i, but only by 2-tenths or so (half a car length). More hp in the 330i (225), but less torque (can't remember, but it is less).
