CD Changer - "Magazine Empty"
Hi all,
Today I tried the 6 disc cd changer. I loaded up 6 CD's (all original, not CD-R's etc), but when I hit the CD button on the player, The display says "Magazine empty".
Has anyone come across this issue before? If so how do I fix it?
Worst case scenario, I may consider purchasing a newer MP3 capable CD player and connect it using the same connections to the system (if possible).
Any thoughts?

Search the board some, I remember seeing some threads on this.
I think what they ended up doing was remvoing all CD's and letting the changer run though (hit the CDC, and then hit numbers 1 through 6, letting the CDC try to play them). I don't know if it works right away or if it takes time, but they got it to work without replacing stuff.

Yep I did, but the procedure suggested in that thread didnt solve it.
I pulled out the changer, opened it up and had to release some gearwheels that were jammed (im guessing from non-use).
Works now, but Im not too satisfied with the fact that it doesnt play burnt discs.
Probably going to pull it out and sell it.

In another post on this subject a user reported that an MB service rep told him to go to the unit, hold the eject cartridge button down and tap the cartridge with a screwdriver handle. I did that to mine and ir corrected the problem!
