Tere are numerous threads on this forum that discuss how to fix this. You can correct this error my installing a capacitor (error cancellor) to so that your HIDs dont flicker.
you can try this one and see if it works or look for another manufacturer that has the type of connection for your hid plugs. GL!

But your post is very unclear what your trying to say.. I dunno if its late or something its only 1am here
You can only get that done at the dealer! + you shouldn't even have to do that with HIDS

if your car had halogens and you got 35watt ballasts. You need to go to the dealership and have them set it to xenon present. If not, you can just get 55watt ballasts and you shouldnt have to set it xenon present.

from my understanding it makes the car beep like newer Mercedes when you lock the doors. i have read that if it is not done properly it will make the panic stop working. i was going to do it but then decided that it isn’t worth it because i check my doors when i look it because my driver’s door lock is failing.

i'm havin the same damn problem, 55w works with car off, then when i turn it on i get the errors. now the guy from DDM assures me that i have the 55w ballast cuz its all black with no label, and the 35w has a label. both lights are doing this...should i assume that my ballasts are ok and i just need to get the Xenon=Present done...or would the error cancellers from DDM work? (its a pain trying to get in touch with a dealer to make the time to do it, and i have a feeling i'm gonna get charged out the ***)

two things first put your location in your info area. second you can turn the lights on when the car is off and see if you have a problem if you do it is not the xenon setting. if it is the setting you can turn the lights on wait at least 30 seconds then put the key in the ignition and start. you wont get any errors but doing that every time will get very annoying.

i can have my headlights on with the car off and have NO problem...
update: ok so i turned the lights on and left em on for 30 seconds before i put the key in the ignition and started the car, and the errors came back.
so that means i shouldn't waste my time with the dealer and just get the error cancelling capacitors from DDM?

well it might the cars are very funny about this sort of thing. most hid kits if you put them in without the setting will cause problems when you start the car. if you turn them on for about 30 seconds then start the car most will be 100 fine but others will still have problems. the best bet is to see if they have a problem with the car off. it is also a good idea to get the setting changed if you are using the 35 watt hids. if you are using the 55 i have no clue if the setting will cause problems since factory xenon is 35w not 55. i know that the halogens will work with the xenon setting on but wont guarantee that the hids will. Someone on here with more experience with the 55 watt would have to help you. I had a hid kit but didn’t like the beam pattern and found a set of real xenon headlights on eBay for 550 and haven’t looked back.

ok just reread your post you have a 55 watt kit and i have seen others on here that have had problems with them and i think they solved it with error cancellers because the kit was not drawing 55watts more like 50 so the computer thought that the halogens bulbs were bad and cut power. if you search on here there is another thread with your problem in it. if i find it again i will post it for you. good luck

thx samaritrey, i ordered the error cancellers from DDM and got 2 day shipping so they'll be here tomorrow, i'll install em ASAP and report back here with the results. (my goal is to run my HIDs in 'constant' on, day time running lights...so i'm hoping with the new harness it will be a success).

yep, only errors if the car is on, they work 100% fine when the key isn't in the ignition. The error cancelling harness cost $40 + $23 for 2 day shipping, brings my total to $160...twice what the guys paid who got error free 35W, but w/e...i still think its a great bargain for the brightness and "coolness" factor over yellow halogens.

ok the plot thickens, i received and installd the error cancelling harness, now i can actually drive at night...the HID's will turn on and work flawless whether i turn on the car first, or the lights.
Now what i really want is to have day time running lights, but whenever i set the lights to constant in the dash, the errors surface about 50% of the time. yes i really am too lazy to have to turn the lights on all the time, i really just want to set it to auto and not have to touch it. anyone have any tips on how to get daytime running lights to work?
i'll have to report back whether if i turn on the car at night with the lights in the 'auto' position if i'll get any errors, we'll see.
Latest Update: This is where it gets complex, if i start the car without daytime running lights on, then turn it on through the dash, they won't work even if the car is already on, but then if i turn them off in the dash which turns the headlights off, then turn them on with the switch they work...so why is the daytime running light setting messing things up?

It sounds like you may have a 50w kit. I saw a few of those. My ballast clearly states 55w. DDM has lifetime warranty, if they're not working even with error cancelers you should contact them about possible defects.
