Rear Bumper damage on c230 Coupe
I have a 2002 c230 coupe (brilliant silver)
Yesterday I washed my car and was horrified (appalled!) to find some damage to my rear bumper. It is a spot roughly 5 inches square on the left half. It looks as though someone took some sand paper and roughed up the paint, because the spot is noticeably darker than the rest and is rough to the touch. I'm not sure what actually happened, probably a parallel parking mishap.
I'm not sure how long its been there, since when the car is dirty from all the winter mud you can't see it, so sometime after my last carwash (about 10 days ago)
Any advice on this? It is a real eyesore. I figure that more traditional bumpers are designed to be replaced simply, but i'm not sure about bumpers like this, where they appear fully integrated to the car body. Is it possible for me to have just that panel replaced?
Thanks
Cullen

If the bumper skin is not cracked and there is no damage to the bumper system then you can just have the bumper repainted at a professionnal shop that has experience working with Mercedes-Benz vehicles. It will probably set you back between USD$300 and USD$400.

Insurance cut me a check for $450 to refinish my rear bumper. It's scuffed up like yours after a guy rear-ended me in a snow storm. I'll wait and see if collect any more bruises this winter before I get the repair done. It may even buff out...
